Trudy Kuhn Dip SMRT, PT (CYQ), MISRM.
I competed as an 800m & cross country runner in my teens. In later life I suffered badly from Achilles Tendonitis which eventually resulted in my having decompression surgery on both tendons. This was successful & in 2002, the year after the operations, I ran the London Marathon to raise money for an orthopaedic charity. I became very involved in distance running & fitness & decided to change career by studying for the YMCA Personal Trainer’s Diploma.
After successfully completing this & working in gyms & freelance as a Gym Instructor & Personal Trainer I became increasingly interested in sports injuries & rehabilitation. I decided to study Sports & Remedial Massage & passed this diploma in 2005. Since then I have been almost solely involved in sports massage, using the personal training knowledge as an invaluable aid for advising clients on remedial exercise. I see clients at 2 physiotherapy clinics, Citisport at Epsom & Dorking Physio, Dorking; both are in Surrey. I treat a range of people varying from international tri-athletes to housewives. I have provided sports massage at events ranging from the British 10K to the Microsoft Challenge. |
