Sports & Work-Related Experience.
I worked for 9 years in the horseracing industry, which included 3 seasons as a conditional National Hunt jockey, and a spell working in the USA. After becoming increasingly interested in equine sports injuries, I went on to study Equine Massage and Rehabilitation Therapies at Warwickshire College of Agriculture.
At about this time I decided to apply my acquired knowledge of fitness & training to long distance running, completing the Oxford half-marathon in 1hr 18mins and then going on to complete the London Marathon in 2hrs 59mins with only 8 weeks preparation! I have practised the ancient art of Tai Chi for the past 10 years with the Hine Institute, and last year passed my Level 1 Instructors Grading.
I graduated from the London School of Sports Massage in 2008 & have since been running a sports massage clinic from Edenbridge in Kent. I am also the Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist for Head2Toe Physiotherapy Clinic in Crawley. I provided pre- & post-event massage at the 2009 London Marathon.
